Happy Fathers Day! Spotlight on Springwell Dad: Mike Edelman

Happy Father’s Day to all of our dads celebrating today! Fathering is no simple task, especially for those Springwellian dads raising creative, entrepreneurial kiddos!

Today, we’d like to spotlight one of our amazing Springwell dads, Mike Edelman, and his relationship with his daughter, Emma!

Mike and Emma’s Favorite Springwell Moments: farm field trip, classroom economy projects, planting the Springwell garden, making apple butter for a Springwell fundraiser, climbing on the rocks at Burnt Mills Park with classmates.

All About Mike and Emma Edelman: Emma has known Mike for over 9 years and considers him in her “all-time top 3” of dads. When not snuggling with Emma or taking her to baseball games, Mike enjoys long distance bike treks, hiking through Shenandoah, and woodworking in his basement. Emma enjoys playing Minecraft, watching Maria Elizabeth videos on YouTube, and helping out her dad in the kitchen, preferably with the most dangerous item available. Mike and Emma love to go on family camping trips as well as beach trips on the Eastern Shore.

Emma also loves playing games with Mike, although she’s beginning to suspect “dads have two (2) queens” is not an official chess regulation. Since the controversial “No Mercy” ruling in 2015, Mike's all-time Uno record vs. his daughter is 17-43-2. Mike is looking forward to a road trip to Maine with Emma later this summer!

Kudos to Mike and Emma on this day!

Happy Father’s Day to all! Enjoy this wonderful time with family.
