Spanish & Arts (Ages 4–12)
Indigenous Stories of Sky, Water, and Land

Join us for a creative and joyful summer experience where children explore storytelling, drama, dance, music, visual arts, movement, and collaborative games in a 50/50 Spanish immersion environment.

Inspired by Indigenous stories and traditions from around the world, campers will create artwork, perform, play, and learn while exploring the relationship between people and the natural world. Through friendship, creativity, and hands-on projects, children build confidence, communication skills, self-expression, and social-emotional awareness.

LEGO Robotics (Ages 7–15)
The ease of LEGO. The power of robotics.

Campers will design, build, and program their own LEGO robots to complete a series of increasingly complex engineering challenges. Along the way, students learn the fundamentals of robotics, coding, problem-solving, teamwork, and design thinking.

Whether your child loves building, inventing, or figuring out how things work, this camp provides a fun and supportive environment where creativity and engineering come together. Campers will test ideas, solve real challenges, and watch their creations come to life.

Theatre Camp: Spring Onto Stage! (Ages 7–15)
Build confidence. Find your voice. Take the stage.

Through improv games, acting exercises, storytelling, and collaborative scene work, campers will learn the foundations of theatre performance in a fun and encouraging environment. Students will practice stage presence, voice projection, movement, character development, and public speaking while creating a short original performance together.

Whether experienced performers or first-time actors, campers can expect a week filled with creativity, laughter, teamwork, and plenty of opportunities to shine.

Game Design: Your Turn to Roll (Ages 7–15)
What makes a game fun? How do designers create challenges, strategies, and memorable experiences?

In this hands-on camp, students will explore board games, tabletop games, and video games through the eyes of a designer. Campers will play, analyze, modify, and create games while learning the fundamentals of game mechanics, player experience, balance, storytelling, and design.

By the end of the week, each camper will have developed and play-tested a prototype of their own original game to take home and continue developing.

Indigenous Language & Culture:
Nawat Blooms Today School (Ages 4+)

Tamachtiluyan Shuchikisa An Ne Nawat (Nawat Blooms Today School), a project of Angel Rose Artist Collective & the National Association of Indigenous Salvadorans (ANIS), is partnering with the Springwell School to offer two weeks of a Nawat Language & Culture Immersion Camp in Silver Spring this August!

Nawat is a critically endangered American Indian language from Western El Salvador that is currently undergoing revitalization through community programming in El Salvador and in the Salvadoran diaspora. This camp invites the community to explore the Nawat language and culture through traditional knowledge, visual arts, performing arts, games, and community conversations.

Participants will learn basic Nawat vocabulary, grammar, and phrases while engaging in hands-on cultural activities that celebrate Indigenous identity, community, and language. This program is designed to be welcoming to beginners, multilingual learners, and families interested in learning together.

Age Guidelines:

Camps are designed for specific age ranges in mind, depending on the program. Children who are one year outside the stated range may be considered on a case-by-case basis. We ask for a brief virtual meeting prior to enrollment in these cases.
