Harmony with our Environment

At Springwell, we aim to cultivate a lasting sense of wellness for our children for their entire lives. This includes a deep resonance and harmony with the natural environment around us.

The goals of our environmental education program are to

  • increase awareness of the impact of human behavior on our home planet Earth, including eating and farming habits

  • promote environmental stewardship in our every day lives; and

  • develop a lasting sense of reverence for the connection between food, as the source of our life, and our environment.

School Gardens

With the support of our staff and parent volunteers, our students cultivate their own school garden featuring edibles, perennials, and herbs, including native plants.

Cooking Lessons

Students explore healthy eating through monthly cooking lessons. They learn about how to make food that is great for our bodies and for our planet Earth. Cooking lessons are integrated with other curriculum.
